When an RFP is a Risky Business – Part 2

This is the second part of Gordon Benzie’s, of Apriso, discussion around why an RFP (request for proposal) may be riskier than most of us think. If you missed Part 1, access it here. In the Internet of Everything, “Everything” Includes YOU

The Internet of Everything (IoE) is a massive societal and technological shift. Cisco estimates that by 2020 there will be 50 billion “connected things” sensing and collecting data, which is 5 times more than today’s projected number. Such technologies are on the horizon and may be impacting our daily lives in years to come. Rachael McBrearty discusses how the IoE includes Quantified Self Movement; “infusing technology directly into people’s lives, collecting data and gleaning insights that may in the future improve health, happiness, and productivity."  Here at LNS, we have been researching the evolution of cloud, mobility, big data, and other emerging technologies as McBrearty commented on. Aside from affecting personal lives, our team is intrigued by how the Internet of Everything will shake up the manufacturing industry and we intend to publish discussions as these advancements evolve.
