At the start of the New Year we decided to do something different, doesn’t everyone?  Our resolution: spending time each week gathering our favorite articles to share with you, our readers. Taking Care of Business

GE’s funding and support will aid in the growth of small and mid-size U.S. companies in the years to come. Last year alone, GE paid over $10 billion to some 11,000 middle market American companies. GE focuses on funding start-ups through programs such as Energy Technology Ventures (ETV). They have recently partnered with the National Center for Manufacturing Science (NCMS) to create the Advanced Manufacturing & Software Technology Center which provides small and midsized U.S. companies with access to computers and industrial-strength modeling software. A Roundup of Responses to Landmark Food Safety Rules

Two years ago, President Obama signed the Food Safety Modernization Act which aims to ensure that the U.S. food supply is the safest it’s been in more than 70 years by shifting the focus from responding to contamination to preventing it in the first place. This law grants the FDA with an increased control over food production and guarantees a more stable food industry as a result.
