A Finnair flight that touched down at JFK this past week was making a political and environmental statement of which its passengers were most likely not even aware. The plane was fueled completely on biofuel, made from recycled restaurant kitchen grease, and flew on the same day as the United Nations Climate Summit. The company wanted to take a stance on biofuel capabilities--that they're viable in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and, ultimately Finnair’s carbon footprint.
