Rockwell Educates on IoT
Rockwell Automation is expanding its reach of the Internet of Things (IoT) education with Sunset Learning Institute (SLI) to bring IoT knowledge and training to a larger audience.
By expanding its investment in IoT training, Rockwell has been able to introduce multiple education and certifications programs. With its Strategic Alliance Partner, Cisco, Rockwell has been able to educate and further certify IT and OT professionals. The Rockwell Global Business Manager, Glenn Goldney stated, “Pairing SLI’s qualifications with our own expertise in OT provides IT and OT professionals with premium quality IoT training. Yokogawa Acquires Industrial Evolution
Earlier this month Yokogawa Electric widened its IIoT reach with the acquisition of Industrial Evolution, a provider of cloud-based plant data sharing services. The acquisition is a part of Yokogawa’s Transformation 2017 business plan.
The acquisition will allow Yokogawa to offer data-as-a-service (DaaS) for its customers. The DaaS from Industrial Evolution allowed its customers to collect process data from Smart Connect Assets and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in real time. Infor Partners with Predictix & Invests $25M
Earlier this week Infor announced it will be investing $25M in Predictix, a retail cloud provider. Along with the investment, Infor and Predictix announced a partnership as well. The two companies claim the partnership will bring predictive analytic applications to Infor’s CloudSuite Retail.
Infor CloudSuite Retail caters to a different industry of customers, but utilizes the Big Data and predictive analytics that are very commonly used in the manufacturing industry. Infor’s President, Duncan Angove, stated that Predictix shares Infor’s beliefs in the power of modern technology and the possibilities it can bring to retail.

Sparta Systems Acquires 123Compliance
Sparta Systems, a global technology company most known for its quality management software, TrackWise, announced it is acquiring 123Compliance, a Food and Drug Administration compliance software for medical companies.
According to the CEO of 123Compliance, Plarent Ymeri, Sparta will help the organization and customers by leveraging a leading cloud solution with its domain expertise and global customer reach. A spokesperson for 123Compliance also stated that the leading expertise from each company, quality management and compliance regulations, will benefit existing and future customers.
